A Two-Day Fashion Design & Sewing Experience at Sew Fabulous

Join us during the school holidays for an immersive Sustainable Fashion School, where young designers will learn how to create their own clothing while exploring the principles of sustainable fashion.
Led by the professional team behind Brighton Slow Fashion Week, this inspiring two-day workshop gives students the opportunity to design, make and showcase their own sustainable fashion creations.

Design, Make & Create

Over two exciting days, students will take a fashion idea from initial inspiration right through to a finished garment. Along the way, they'll learn about sustainable fashion practices, creative design techniques, garment construction, and how to bring their ideas to life.

Whether you're taking your first serious step into the world of fashion or looking to develop existing sewing and design skills, this workshop offers a supportive and creative studio environment.

What You'll Learn

• Fashion research and mood board development
• Sustainable design principles
• Pattern selection and adaptation
• Garment construction techniques
• Professional sewing skills
• Styling and presentation of finished looks

Students will work at their own dedicated workstation with a sewing machine, and have access to our studio overlockers, extensive pattern library, fabrics, and creative resources.

By the end of the workshop, each student will have completed their own sustainable garment and gained valuable fashion design and making skills.

Suitable For

This workshop is suitable for children and teenagers who can thread and operate a sewing machine at a basic level.

If you are new to sewing or would like to refresh your skills, we recommend attending one of our Absolute Beginners Sewing Classes before booking.

What to Bring

The workshop includes a lunch break and short refreshment breaks throughout the day.
Please bring a packed lunch or money to purchase lunch from the Open Market's range of food stalls.
